National Treasure
Siberian cats are a Russian national treasure. They have been documented in Russia and have even been mentioned in Russian fairy tales and children’s books for hundreds of years.

Sweet Facial Expression
The Siberian is a medium to large cat with the overall appearance of excellent physical condition, strength, balance, power, and alertness, modified by a sweet facial expression. The general impression of the body is one of circles and roundness rather than rectangles and triangles, and taking as long as 5 years to reach full maturity. Besides, Siberians like to play in water, so if bathed regularly as kittens they may actually enjoy the attention of a bath.

Russian families relay fond tales of their Siberians and their amazing loyalty and personalities, but these cats also have played a practical role on farms as rodent control. When the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States ended, the doors opened for the Siberian cat to be exported worldwide.

Hypo-allergenic Cats
Siberians are also known for being hypoallergenic. Some people are allergic to cats, and they often misunderstand it is caused by cat hair. In fact, it is caused by a common allergens from cat saliva and dander. There is a “Fel d1″antigenic proteins in cat saliva and dander, when they lick themselves to clean their hair, saliva will stick to the hair and dry out. Some people touch them and cause some allergic symptoms. Siberian cat generates “Fel d1” less than the average cat. Even a people with cat allergy, there is also a great opportunity to get along with a Siberian cat.

About Us
The Alkie Cattery is a home-based cattery located in Hong Kong, targeting in breeding high quality of Siberian cats. Our cats and cattery are both CFA registered.
My husband and I found mystery between cats and human after marriage. The American Short hairs brought us a lot of fun in the cat shows and at home. Then someday our friends told us that they were so sad because they were allergic to cats but really wanted to visit our place and play with our cats. This was the moment we thought of the hypo-allergenic cats, Siberian Cats.
The more we found, the more specialty we knew about Siberians. Their personalities and body shapes are from the power of nature, everything is balanced to let them survive in the world. Soon we decided to add more of these fabulous cats to our family. We found our first beautiful and handsome male kitten, Judo’s Sheldon Silver of The Alkie, from Kender Siberians and later we also imported a nice female, Kender’s Song of the Heart of The Alkie.
Sheldon started his show career, and soon he will start to bring us some lovely kittens. Sheldon has won a Best Kitten and 6th Best Kitten in the CFA UFO Mid-Summer Champion Cat Show ; a 3rd Best Cat in Longhair Championship in UFO Naughty New Year Champion Cat Show ; 3rd Best All Breed Champion, 3rd Best Longhair Champion, 3rd Best All Breed Champion, 3rd Best Longhair Champion, 13th Best Cat in 2 rings of CFA International Championship Cat Show. After 2 shows, Sheldon is now Grand Champion and hope he can be brighter in the near future.
Song has finished her 6 rings show and now is a Champion, we hope her condition will be better and may bring her out for the shows.
We are very proud of our cats and look forward to seeing what they can achieve in the future.
